From 19th until 21st April the rare plants fair takes place in the botanic garden. The upper part of the garden remains accessible free of charge through the entrance Alpengarten during this time.
Welcome to the Botanical Garden of the University of Vienna!
Our unique plant collection includes critically endangered species as well as exotic and native plants. Many of them are being studied by academics and used for the education of students. The groves and meadows of the garden are a valuable natural habitat for wild animals. For our visitors, the garden is a place of rest and wonder.
The botanical garden is a Core Facility of the Faculty of Life Sciences and adjoins the Department of Botany and Biodiversity Research.
