The Botanical Garden is closed on Thursday April 16th.
From April 17th to April 19th the rare plants fair takes place in the garden. During this time, the upper part of the garden can be accessed for free through the entrance "Alpengarten". To access the fair, a ticket has to be purchased at the entrance.
Welcome to the Botanical Garden of the University of Vienna!
Our unique plant collection includes critically endangered species as well as exotic and native plants. Many of them are being studied by academics and used for the education of students. The groves and meadows of the garden are a valuable natural habitat for wild animals. For our visitors, the garden is a place of rest and wonder.
The botanical garden is a Core Facility of the Faculty of Life Sciences and adjoins the Department of Botany and Biodiversity Research.
