The study of plant life is one of the most important tasks of the Botanical Garden. Questions pertaining to phylogenetics and evolution, to reproductive biology as well as to the spread and endangerment of plants are being studied at the Garden and at the Department of Botany and Biodiversity Research of the University of Vienna.
